Boosters Protect Against Omicron - New Appointments Available Today

The following is a message from the City of Berkeley:

You can now get first, second or booster doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at any of a series of Berkeley Public Health clinics over the coming week.

These clinics are being scheduled in an effort to bolster the supply from primary vaccination sites: health care providers, local pharmacies and myturn.ca.gov

Vaccines continue to be the most powerful tool to fight the pandemic, providing strong protection against severe illness and hospitalization.

Booster doses are recommended for everyone who is at least 16 years old and who:

  • Received a second Pfizer or Moderna dose at least six months ago

  • Received a first dose of Johnson & Johnson at least 2 months ago

Those that are ages 16-17 only can receive a Pfizer booster dose. The Pfizer boosters being used at these clinics can be used for anyone, regardless of which brand you chose for your first dose, according to state and federal guidelines.

Children 5- to 17-years-olds need a signed consent form and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian unless otherwise noted.
