MAYOR JESSE ARREGUÍN in conversation with
ALEX SAVIDGE of KTVU and RACHEL SWAN of The San Francisco Chronicle

As Berkeley’s Mayor, Jesse has made addressing homelessness, affordable housing, improving infrastructure and educational outcomes his top priorities.

Over the past five years he has worked to change Berkeley’s approach to addressing homelessness, focusing on compassionate solutions and housing first. The Mayor has also led efforts to increase housing production, expand tenant protections, expand anti-displacement programs, and create a dedicated funding stream for affordable housing.

Mayor Arreguin is the President of the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG), the Bay Area's regional planning agency and Council of Governments.

Alex Savidge anchors the 4pm and 7pm newscasts at KTVU and KTVU Plus. He’s been working as a journalist for nearly 20 years, with half of that time spent at Channel 2. Alex grew up in Berkeley and now lives in the city with his wife and two kids (with his parents just up the street). When he’s not covering the news across the Bay Area, Alex loves bike rides to the marina with his family, cooking elaborate dinners, and watching Warriors.
